Sometimes I like to mono drum sounds like my hats, not all the time, but when I do I like to add some amount of stereo width using reverb. The problem with FL Studio is that if you make your sound mono using the stereo separation knob on the mixer, the applied reverb will also become mono.
Instead of using the stereo separation knob on the mixer, try adding a fruity stereo enhancer at the beginning of your FX chain, you can use the stereo separation on it to make the sound mono then put your reverb after it in the chain which will keep the stereo width of the reverb.
