We do not recommend going by car, especially because it is a very pleasant walk along the seafront. But, if you do, there is a car park next to the ticket office on Dr. Vázquez Iglesias street.
The Tower of Hercules is open every day of the year except on the 1st and 5th in the afternoon and on 6th January and on the 24th, 25th and 31st December. The opening time is always at 9:45am, but closing times vary throughout the year: until 5pm from January to May and from October to December; until 5:30pm from 1st to 15th June and from 16th to 30th September, and until 9pm from 16th June to 15th September. Closing times for the ticket offices also vary, as you can check on the official website .

For safety reasons, the Tower of Hercules closes its doors in winds of force 7 or higher. In winds of force 5 or 6, the tower is open, but the terrace is closed and you cannot go out to enjoy the views.

We have already talked about the ticket office, on Dr. Vázquez Iglesias street, but we have to tell you that the number of visitors to the Tower of Hercules is limited to 32 people every half hour . Depending on the time of year you are going to visit, you may find that the tickets for the time you wanted are sold out. Our recommendation is to reserve them online – you can do this up to three days in advance –. This way you won’t have to go through the ticket office, you will go directly to the entrance of the tower.

Every Monday of the year, entry to the Tower of Hercules is free , but it is still mandatory to reserve your place.

Each floor has four square chambers – 2.70 metres on each side – of Roman origin that fill the floor of the tower. They were all covered with barrel vaults, but only one remains per floor after the construction of the internal staircase in the 17th century.
